When you are stressed out your internal environment is unbalanced and bacteria and viruses start attacking the body. Hatha Pranayama (Breathing Techniques) reduces stress levels and fights against anxiety to support the immune system.
Amongst many others, Harvard Medical School recommends yoga, and meditation to deal with anxiety: its latest health guideline said that yoga, meditation, and controlled breathing are "some tried and true ways to relax body and mind".

These measure One2One yoga practices address common causes of back pain, including lumbar & neck pain, stiff shoulders, arms and hands pain, sciatica, scoliosis and stress reduction which significantly contribute to back tension. The strengthening and flexibility routines are designed to reduce back pain while increasing general well-being, and fitness level and improving posture.
YIN YOGA & SOUND BATH
Harmonic patterns of the cosmos
At Yoga with Paola we offer these Yin & Sound sessions both in the comfort of your home and online to allow you to take time to breathe, relax, tune in and connect with this amazing worldwide yoga community from your living room. This personal/online Yin Yoga & Sound 6-week course can be the ideal bonding experience for the whole family as well as a magic solo session.
Paola knows firsthand how transformative sound can be: trained yoga teacher, acrobatic dancer, and sound therapy, she is also a percussionist. “Sound is an elemental force,” says Paola “It gets you out of your head and immediately into your heart .” In her sessions, she weaves together easy yin yoga asanas (poses) with guided breath, vocalization, humming, mantras, and vibration to tune her clients’ energy into what she defines the “harmonic patterns of the cosmos.”, a tapestry of frequencies and light.
During 50-minute solo sessions, tuning forks, Tibetan bells, chimes, bells, and rattles are used to tap into crucial points and rhythms along the body. The good vibrations, the breathing patterns, and the poses tango with your natural meridians, or energy channels, to produce a pleasant tingling and releasing sensation. This is followed by a period of meditation in relaxation, laying /sitting. There is little physical movement during a session, with long-held yin yoga poses focusing on the breath and healing sounds. It’s less about targeting the specific muscle/pain area and more about helping a person relax, let go and tune in to their own life force, called Prana, the Chi. Sometimes less is more.
KIDS & TEENS YOGA
Fun and flexible
We offer a fun sequence of postures for kids (4-18), encouraging them to grow in a positive, creative environment where yoga is woven into their lives at an early age, gaining tools to handle stress and develop concentration. One2One tailor-made courses benefit the child during their entire lifetime. We combine energetic movements, postures, games, breathing exercises, and mindfulness into an integrated and holistic program of physical fitness, and social and self-awareness. Their yoga improves very quickly. We also run Family Yoga sessions where children learn to share and play with parents as a team in a safe and structured environment through games, challenging body postures and flowing sequences.
For children and young people with developmental challenges
Our personal One2One sessions offer an integrated system of chanting & sounds, gentle yoga postures, breathing exercises and relaxation. The intention is to assist each child in feeling comfortable and peaceful within themselves and enable them to reach their full potential. Yoga is a very comprehensive type of therapy for young yogis with different learning and physical difficulties such as Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Anxiety Disorder, Learning Difficulties, Dyslexia, motor planning issues, Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) and general developmental delays. Yoga helps teach listening skills and imitation/mirroring. Deep breathing helps children relax and relieve stress. Children with physical mobility issues can do Yoga too!

The miracle of yoga
Smooth pregnancy and natural childbirth are just some of the benefits of yoga, and more importantly, yoga does wonders for the physical and mental development of the baby.
Yoga Exercises and postures: gently work on the reproductive organs and pelvis to ensure a smooth pregnancy and relatively easy childbirth. At the subtle level, these ensure an optimum supply of blood and nutrients to the developing fetus.
Breathing or Pranayama: powerful techniques ensure an abundant supply of oxygen and a better life force for you and your child.
Meditation & Deep Relaxation: as a therapeutic tool, relaxation and meditation will help you resolve the deepest of neuroses, fears, and conflicts, which are so common during pregnancy.
Yin Yoga is particularly effective during pregnancy for physical and mental relaxation as well as for childbirth preparation.
YOGA OVER 50s
The fountain of youth
There is evidence that yoga can help fight all kinds of challenges that ageing bodies (and minds) face: loss of bone density, stiffness, hardening of arteries, hormonal fluctuations, mild depression, low immune system, and memory. There are three key components to a good workout for seniors: low-impact cardio, resistance training, and stretching. Yoga has the potential to cover them and our sessions are focused on proper breathing, basic posture and body alignment perfect for seniors with physical limitations; it is a style of yoga focused on honouring and accepting the whole individual aches, pains and weaknesses included.

Afro-Inspired Dynamic Yoga
Connect to your ecstatic and meditative self through basic West African Dance and Ha-Tha yoga. Afro Flow Yoga explores the relationship between the wild, passionate, joy of traditional West African Dance and Hatha Yoga. Through basic dance movements, music, deep yoga stretches, chanting, breath work, and meditation you’ll discover the natural rhythms of your own individual body, mind, and spirit. Dance and music in West Africa serve as “sadhana,” or spiritual rituals for communities to come together in celebration of birth, loss, marriage, and protection. The dance doesn’t focus on performance or technique, but rather a union with body, mind, and soul.
Both West African Dance and Ha-Tha Yoga play with the balance of solar and lunar energy, steadiness and lightness, grounding and rising, and heating and cooling. As you begin to unite these elements within you, you’ll feel joyful, calm, ecstatic, and peaceful. Paola's workshops are always open to all levels. No dance experience is necessary.
